ABBOTTABAD (Sports Reporter): Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam endured a disappointing return to domestic cricket, scoring only 16 runs across both innings in his first match after a seven-year absence.
Babar’s return to the domestic circuit had generated considerable interest among cricket fans, with supporters eager to see the star batter back in action at the national level.
The 31-year-old featured for OGDCL against KRL in the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I in Abbottabad.
Babar scored 12 runs in the first innings before returning to the crease on Sunday for his second outing. However, he managed only four runs before being dismissed leg before wicket.
His combined score of 16 runs fell short of expectations, with the large crowd at the venue left disappointed after hoping to see a substantial innings from the Pakistan star.
