Australia Sets 265-Run Target for India in Champions Trophy Semi-Final

DUBAI: In the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy, Australia has set India a target of 265 runs. The match is being played at the Dubai Stadium, where Australia won the toss and chose to bat first.

Australia posted a total of 264 runs in 49.3 overs, losing all their wickets. India now needs 265 runs to secure victory.

Australia’s first wicket fell at 4 runs when Cooper Connelly was dismissed for a duck. Following his departure, Travis Head took an aggressive approach. Australia’s second wicket fell at 54 runs, with Travis Head contributing 39 runs, including 2 sixes and 5 fours, before being caught out. The third wicket came at 110 runs when Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for 29 runs.

The fourth wicket fell at 144 runs when Josh Inglis was dismissed for just 11 runs. Steve Smith played a solid innings, scoring 73 runs before being out at 198 runs. Glenn Maxwell was bowled out for 7 runs at a total score of 205 runs. After that, the remaining batsmen couldn’t build a significant partnership, and the team was all out before completing their allotted overs.

Australian captain Steve Smith commented that the pitch appeared dry, and the team made two changes for the match. Indian captain Rohit Sharma said his team was prepared for both batting and bowling, and they made no changes to their lineup. He also mentioned that the pitch would change its nature as the game progressed.
