Sindh Basketball Association Elects Ali Hasan Brohi President, Dleep Singh Secretary

KARACHI: (Staff Reporter) – Ali Hasan Brohi has been unanimously elected as President of the Sindh Basketball Association (SBA), while Dleep Singh was elected Secretary during the association’s elections held in Karachi on June 30, 2026.

The election meeting took place at a local restaurant under the supervision of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF) and was chaired by PBF Secretary General Khalid Bashir.

Representatives from all six divisional basketball associations of Sindh participated in the electoral process. Asghar Baloch attended the meeting as the representative of the Sindh Olympic Association.

Besides the president and secretary, the following office-bearers were elected:

  • Yaqoob Qadry (Karachi) – Senior Vice President
  • Arshad Saeed (Sukkur) – Vice President
  • Raja Sheeraz (Hyderabad) – Treasurer
  • Sahir Hussain (Larkana) – Executive Member
  • Shabbir Chandio (Benazirabad) – Executive Member

Addressing the gathering, newly elected President Ali Hasan Brohi said the association would focus on promoting basketball among boys and girls across Sindh, with particular emphasis on developing the sport in the province’s interior districts.

Secretary Dleep Singh thanked the members for their confidence and said a comprehensive development programme for basketball in Sindh would be unveiled after consultations with the newly elected Executive Committee.

The newly elected leadership reaffirmed its commitment to expanding basketball activities, strengthening grassroots development and creating more opportunities for young athletes across the province.
