481 power pilferers arrested: Amjad Khan,

The series of operations against electricity thieves continues without discrimination in all IESCO regions including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal Circles,with the cooperation of the police and district administration. During the ongoing operations 4640 electricity thieves have been fined more than 262 million across the region. While registering 585 FIRs 481 electricity thieves were arrested by the police while taking legal action against the concerned consumers.

On the special instructions of Chief Executive Officer IESCO Dr Muhammad Amjad Khan and under the direct supervision of Chief Engineer Operation IESCO Muhammad Aslam Khan, IESCO Operation, M&T and Surveillance teams checked the meters of houses and colonies of IESCO officers and staff in all operation circles.

CEO IESCO issued clear instructions to the detection teams that no one is above the law and if any IESCO officer or staff is found involved in electricity theft, strict action should be taken against him. Apart from this, orders have also been given to shift the meters installed in IESCO colonies to D-Boxes.
