PML-N supremo has still refused to accept his initiation to have live debate,Bilawal

PPP’s expertise will lead Pakistan through challenges: Asif Zardari

Islamabad/Kahuta (Staff reporter /Special Correspondent/Webdesk)_PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has claimed that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif seemed ‘too cowardly’ to face him in debate before the general elections, which are scheduled to take place on February 8.

“Another day goes by and Nawaz Sharif has still refused to accept our invitation to have a live debate of PM candidates before the elections on February 8th,” he said in a post on X on Tuesday.

Last week, the PPP chairman challenged his opponent in the polls to a televised debate, providing voters with crucial insights into their plans.

But PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif responded to the invitation. He was of the view that it would have been better if Bilawal had invited Nawaz Sharif to inspect Sindh instead of debate.

In reaction, Bilawal offered three venues to Sharif for a debate. The PPP chairman said he was ready for debate in Gambat, Thar, Karachi, and anywhere the former prime minister requested.

“It seems the wanna be 4th time PM is too cowardly to face me in a debate and allow the people of Pakistan an opportunity to make an informed choice on Election Day,” he said on Tuesday.

Addressing a political gathering in Dera Ismail Khan, Bilawal stressed that the contest in the upcoming elections is between arrow and lion — the election symbols of the PPP and the PML-N, respectively.

“The PML-N is giving the impression that Nawaz is [going] to become the country’s prime minister for the fourth time.

“Do [people] wish to see politics of hate continue?” the PPP leader said while questioning whether the people want to see the same person become the country’s premier again.

His remarks come as his party has arguably emerged as a key rival of the PML-N in its stronghold of Punjab, and is striving to strengthen its position ahead of the polls for which the province has become a cauldron of political activities — owing to its share in the National Assembly as resulting significance in forming of the government in the centre.

With the Imran Khan-founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) practically out of the election race, after the revocation of its election symbol “bat”, the verbal banter between the former allies has increased significantly as they both strive to woo the voters and garner support to solidify their political standing in the all-important province.

Earlier,

Co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Asif Ali Zardari, assured the public that despite the challenges faced by Pakistan, the party possesses the expertise to navigate these difficulties and lead the country toward prosperity.

In a fervent address at a rally in Kahuta, he asserted the party’s commitment to addressing national issues and expressed confidence in bringing about positive change. He emphasized, “We will change Pakistan again, and once in power, everything will align with the wishes of the people.”

The former president outlined key initiatives for the region, promising the establishment of a hospital to provide top-notch healthcare facilities. Additionally, he pledged to address environmental concerns by providing gas facilities to curb deforestation, showcasing the party’s commitment to sustainability.

As the election campaign intensifies in the lead-up to the general elections on February 8, various political parties, including the Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N, are actively engaging with the electorate.
