Two cops martyred in terrorist attack 8 injured in explosion near police station in KP’s Khyber district

at least two policemen embraced martyrdom and two other sustained injuries when terrorists opened fire at a police mobile van at a check post in Peshawar in the wee hours of Thursday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, terrorists opened fire at a check post located in Raigi Model Town area of Peshawar due to which four policemen sustained injuries. The injured cops were rushed to a nearby hospital where two of them succumbed to their wounds.

The deceased policemen were identified as head constable Wajid and driver Farman. The injured cops were identified as constable Sayar and constable Feroze.

While  eight people were reportedly injured in an explosion outside the gate of a police station in the Bara Bazar area of Tehsil Bara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Thursday.

However, no casualties have so far been reported.

Police said the injured were being shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Dogra Khyber Agency.  The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained.

Initially, the police said that smoke was seen rising from the site of the explosion. They said that heavy firing was also reported after the explosion.
