Accountability Court quashed non-bailable arrest warrants issued for PMLN’s leaders in LNG reference

Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) An accountability court quashed the non-bailable arrest warrants issued for Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and others in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) reference filed against them.

According to the source, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s lawyer appeared before the court to file the plea seeking annulment of his warrants. The court had, earlier, issued the warrants as Mr Abbasi as well as his lawyer failed to appear before the court.

As per details Judge Nasir Javed had, earlier, issued the warrants for Mr Abbasi. On the other hand, the court also issued arrest warrants for the co-accused Uzma Adil.

Meanwhile earlier, an accountability court had reserved its verdict in the LNG reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the former prime minister. The reference also nominated former finance minister Miftah Ismail and others including industrial conglomerates.
