Another 26 people died due to flood
NFRCC said that 26 people died in various flood-related incidents during 24 hours. A total of 11 people sustained injuries in the last 24 hours and deaths reached 1,290, including 259 women and 453 children.
The center added that 12,588 people had been injured in various accidents while Landslides affected the 24 km section on the M8 Motorway in Baluchistan.
The railway network in parts of the country was also affected due to floods and rains. According to the NFRCC, from Quetta to Taftan and from Quetta to Sabi rail tracks and from Sabi to Habibkot track were hit.
Railway traffic was affected between Punjab and Sindh from Hyderabad to Rohri and Multan while the Railway line was affected from Kotri to Lakhi Shah and Dadu in Sindh.
The centre also released the details of the districts affected by the natural calamity. A total of 31 districts in Baluchistan, 6 districts in Gilgit-Baltistan and 17 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 districts in Punjab, and 23 districts in Sindh were affected. A total of 80 districts across the country were affected by natural calamities in the form of rains and floods.
NFRCS adding that more than 9 million people of Baluchistan, 4.3 million of KP, and 51,500 GB were affected in the flooding. In Punjab over 4.8m and in Sindh over 10 million citizens are affected.
Last 24 hours, 44 tonnes of rations and medicines were transported by helicopters, it said addint that so far a total of 3 thousand twenty-one tonnes of food has been distributed to the affected people and more than 88 thousand patients have been treated in 250 medical camps across the country.
