Young Pakistani Footballers Need Better Facilities, Says Coach Nolberto Solano
Pakistan head coach says the country has plenty of talent, but players need proper support, sponsors and stronger fitness to compete at the top level.
ISLAMABAD: Young Pakistani footballers have plenty of talent, but they need better facilities and support to reach the international level, says head coach Nolberto Solano.
He shared his views at a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Solano said the team is working hard to become stronger and more competitive. He added that proper training and the growth of young players are the main focus right now.
The coach also pointed to money as a big issue. He said sponsors and financial resources are very important if football is to grow in Pakistan.
Solano gave the example of India. He said that country has worked on professional football for the past 20 years. In his view, Pakistan should follow a similar path to improve the game.
The coach was honest about fitness. He said he is not fully happy with the fitness of Pakistani players and believes they must become physically stronger.
Even so, he sees progress. Solano said the national team is getting better little by little and moving forward step by step.
He also had a clear message for his players. He asked them to treat every match like a final and to prepare seriously for every challenge.
Talking about the upcoming SAFF Championship, Solano said the first target is simple. The team wants to reach the next round and win a place in the semi-finals.
He also spoke about the match against India. Solano said he wants a good result in that game because it matters a lot to Pakistani football fans.
The coaching staff, he said, is working to improve the skills of young players. The goal is to turn Pakistan into a more competitive side on the international stage.
For many fans, his words bring hope. With better facilities, steady support and hard work, young Pakistani footballers could soon make the country proud.
