Fazlur Rehman Rejects Claims Linking Him to CM’s Possible Arrest
Faisal Vawda Says PTI Has Fragmented and Its Political Show Is Over
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has dismissed allegations suggesting he was involved in the possible arrest of a chief minister, describing such remarks as baseless and irresponsible.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament House, Fazlur Rehman was asked about claims linking him to the reported possibility of the chief minister’s arrest.
“Such baseless statements should not be made. This is a time to fulfil our responsibilities,” he said, calling on senior journalists to exercise greater responsibility while reporting on sensitive political developments.
The JUI-F chief also confirmed that a meeting with opposition representatives was expected to take place shortly. He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had honoured the commitment it had made.
Fazlur Rehman added that his party would announce its future strategy after a meeting of its Central Majlis-e-Shura. Responding to a question about the government’s repeated failure to meet expectations, he said the matter should be taken up with the government itself.
Faisal Vawda Says PTI’s Political Show Is Over
Separately, Senator Faisal Vawda claimed that PTI had fragmented politically and declared that the party’s political momentum had come to an end. He urged its leaders to establish a new political party or join another political platform to contribute to the country.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Vawda criticised the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and commented on recent political developments involving the province, including discussions surrounding the possible imposition of Governor’s Rule and an emergency.
“PTI has now scattered, and the show is over,” Vawda said, urging party leaders to reconsider their political direction and take responsibility for their future decisions.
He maintained that not all PTI members were responsible for the party’s current difficulties, adding that the party included patriotic individuals who could continue contributing to the country.
Vawda also alleged that the arrests of PTI leaders were part of a coordinated arrangement following the emergency. His remarks came amid continuing political tensions and debate over the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
