Harry Kane Targets Ronaldo’s International Goals Record After England Milestone
“I’m not going to stop,” Kane said. “I’m going to keep pushing and see where it takes me.”
LONDON: (Sports Desk) – England captain Harry Kane has refused to rule out catching Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of the international goalscoring charts after scoring twice against the Czech Republic.
Kane marked his record-equalling 125th England appearance at Wembley on Tuesday by scoring his 90th and 91st international goals in England’s 3-0 victory.
The 33-year-old striker, who is already England’s all-time leading goalscorer, said he has no plans to retire anytime soon.
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, currently leads the global international goalscoring charts with 146 goals.
“We’ll see how far we can get,” Kane said, acknowledging the significant gap but adding that he remains in excellent physical condition.
Kane also said he could continue playing into his late 30s or even 40s, depending on his fitness and ability to contribute to the England team.
Equalling former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps was a major milestone for Kane, who made his international debut 11 years ago.

“It was beyond my wildest dreams,” Kane said of reaching the landmark.
England manager Thomas Tuchel praised the striker, saying Kane deserved the recognition after another impressive performance.
Kane scored just 79 seconds into his England debut in 2015 and said his career had been built on self-belief, hard work and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
The former Tottenham Hotspur forward is also in contention for the Ballon d’Or and believes he still has room to improve despite his extensive experience.
“I’m coming off the back of my best season ever as a player,” Kane said, adding that he had started the current campaign strongly.
Kane has reached new heights since joining Bayern Munich, becoming the fastest player to score 100 Bundesliga goals after reaching the landmark in just 98 league appearances.
The striker, who left Tottenham as the club’s record goalscorer, remains determined to continue pushing his limits.
“I’m not going to stop,” Kane said. “I’m going to keep pushing and see where it takes me.”
