Cement Prices Decline Across Pakistan During Latest Week

ISLAMABAD: (Finance Desk)  – Retail cement prices declined across Pakistan during the week ended August 27, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The average price of a 50kg cement bag in northern cities and areas fell to Rs1,555, down 0.63% from Rs1,565 recorded a week earlier.

In southern markets, the average price decreased to Rs1,539 per bag, compared with Rs1,547 in the previous week, representing a 0.53% decline.

Cement Prices In Northern Markets

According to PBS data, the average retail price of a 50kg cement bag was Rs1,532 in Islamabad and Rs1,535 in Rawalpindi.

Prices in other northern and central markets were recorded at:

• Gujranwala: Rs1,600
• Sialkot: Rs1,500
• Lahore: Rs1,590
• Faisalabad: Rs1,550
• Sargodha: Rs1,582
• Multan: Rs1,591
• Bahawalpur: Rs1,560
• Peshawar: Rs1,573
• Bannu: Rs1,490

Prices In Southern Markets

In southern cities, Karachi recorded an average cement price of Rs1,470 per bag, the lowest among the listed southern markets.

The average prices elsewhere were:

• Hyderabad: Rs1,519
• Sukkur: Rs1,600
• Larkana: Rs1,523
• Quetta: Rs1,520
• Khuzdar: Rs1,600

The latest PBS figures indicate a modest week-on-week decline in cement prices across both northern and southern parts of the country.
