Punjab Grants PMS Age Relaxation, Limit Now 32

Special one-time dispensation raises upper age limit to 32 years

Punjab – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Punjab government has announced a PMS age relaxation Punjab decision, giving candidates a two-year extension in the upper age limit. This special one-time relief applies to those appearing in the Provincial Management Service (BS-17) combined competitive exam.

Candidates can now apply up to the age of 32 years. Earlier, many aspirants were left out due to the standard age cap. This move opens fresh opportunities for a wider pool of applicants.

The exam will be held by the Punjab Public Service Commission in 2026 and 2027. The Services and General Administration Department shared this update through an official notification.

This change came after approval from the Punjab governor. The amendment was made under the Punjab Civil Servants Recruitment (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1976.

Officials confirmed that this relaxation is only for PMS (BS-17) posts. It will not apply to other provincial jobs or future recruitment cycles beyond this period.

The relief window runs from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027. Candidates within this bracket should check their eligibility carefully before applying.

This step is seen as a supportive move for young professionals. Many candidates missed previous chances due to age restrictions or delayed exam cycles.

Career experts believe this relaxation will boost competition and bring more talent into public service roles. It also gives late bloomers a fair shot at securing a government career.

Aspiring candidates should stay updated with PPSC announcements. Keeping an eye on the official website will help avoid missing important dates or eligibility criteria updates.
