Bilawal: PML-N Government at Risk as Party ‘Mistaken’ Over AJK Win

PPP – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has stirred fresh political debate after saying the Bilawal PML-N government at risk claim reflects growing cracks inside the ruling party. The PPP chairman made these remarks during a public rally in Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday.

He told the crowd that PML-N was wrong to assume it had already secured victory in AJK. According to him, the party’s troubles go far beyond the region.

Bilawal said the real danger for PML-N lies in Islamabad, not just in Kashmir. He claimed the countdown for the federal government had already begun, and insisted this pressure was coming from within PML-N’s own ranks.

The PPP leader did not hold back on family matters either. He suggested a section of PML-N wants Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to clash with his coalition partners. But he added that the actual dispute runs deeper than politics.

Bilawal described the ongoing tension as a rift between Islamabad and Lahore. He called it a personal issue within the Sharif family rather than a simple policy disagreement.

His comments come at a sensitive time. PML-N has taken a clear lead in the AJK elections so far, winning 24 seats after two phases of voting. PPP trails behind with 10 seats.

Earlier this week, Rana Sanaullah, the prime minister’s adviser on political affairs, said PML-N had already reached a simple majority needed to form the AJK government.

Bilawal pushed back strongly against that claim. Speaking to supporters, he vowed that PPP would still make its mark. He used a colorful phrase, saying his party would “hunt the lion,” referring to PML-N’s election symbol, during the final phase of voting in Poonch.

He reminded the crowd that 11 seats are still undecided. Voting in Bagh and Haveli districts, part of the Poonch Division, is scheduled for August 10.

Bilawal expressed confidence that PPP could still form a government in the region despite trailing in the count.

He also responded to recent comments from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi about the system nearing collapse. Bilawal disagreed with that framing entirely.

He argued the system hasn’t failed on its own. Instead, he claimed it has been deliberately pushed toward failure. He added that stability won’t return until people’s basic right to choose their leaders is respected.

As the last phase of AJK polling approaches, all eyes are now on Poonch. The results could decide whether PML-N secures full control, or whether PPP’s late push changes the outcome entirely.

Political observers say Bilawal’s remarks add more heat to an already tense election season, with both parties trying to shape public opinion before votes are cast on August 10.
