12 Terrorists Killed in Balochistan as Security Forces Crush Militant Threat

RAWALPINDI – (Staff Report/Web Desk) – Twelve terrorists killed in two separate operations in Balochistan this week, as Pakistan’s security forces stepped up their fight against militants linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna Al Hindustan. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) shared the update on Thursday, confirming that both actions took place under the ongoing Rad-ul-Fitna-3 campaign.

The first operation happened in Washuk district on August 5. Troops spotted six militants moving through the area and quickly responded. After a short but intense clash, all six were eliminated on the spot.

A day later, on August 6, forces carried out a second raid in Mastung district. This time, six more terrorists lost their lives during a fierce gun battle. Soldiers also found and destroyed a hideout the group had been using to plan attacks.

Officials say these missions are part of a bigger plan called Azm-e-Istehkam. This strategy was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The goal is simple: clear the country of terrorism that gets support from outside its borders.

This isn’t the first success story from Balochistan lately. Just last week, troops stopped a serious threat in Khuzdar district. Four India-linked militants were killed there, and two vehicles packed with explosives were destroyed before they could cause harm. Security teams caught the vehicle-borne bombs before they reached their targets.

Sadly, violence hasn’t slowed down much in this part of Pakistan. Since the Afghan Taliban took control of Afghanistan back in 2021, both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan have seen a sharp rise in attacks.

A recent study by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) paints a worrying picture. Nearly all deaths from violence in the country during the second quarter of 2026 happened in just these two provinces. KP alone accounted for more than 61 percent of the total fatalities, while Balochistan made up around 34 percent.

KP also saw the most attacks overall, with over 150 separate incidents reported. Balochistan wasn’t far behind, recording close to 100 cases during the same period. Together, these numbers show just how much pressure security forces are under in the region.

Despite the challenges, officials remain firm. They say the fight against foreign-backed terrorism will continue at full speed until peace returns to these troubled areas.
