Rawalpindi: (Staff Reporter) – Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Nadeem Nasir has announced a public holiday for educational institutions within the municipal limits of Rawalpindi tehsil on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, due to Chehlum observances.
According to an official notification, all government and private educational institutions operating within the municipal boundaries of Rawalpindi tehsil will remain closed for the day.
However, schools and colleges functioning under the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board will continue regular operations.
Authorities have also ordered the closure of markets and commercial areas located along Chehlum procession routes to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Citizens have been advised to cooperate with security measures and follow traffic instructions issued for the occasion.
