Lahore Roof Collapse Deaths: Nine Killed, Three Injured in Baghbanpura Tragedy

Two other people were also hurt in that Faisalabad accident. Rescue teams worked quickly to shift them to the hospital for treatment.

Sadly, these losses come just weeks after another heartbreaking event. Fourteen children had died when the roof of a tutoring centre collapsed in Lahore.

Most of the children in that earlier tragedy were under nine years old. The youngest was just five, while the oldest was sixteen.

These repeated incidents have raised serious questions about building safety across Punjab. Many old houses and small commercial buildings in dense city areas are not regularly inspected for structural damage.

Experts say monsoon rains often expose weak points in aging structures. Cracks, water seepage, and poor construction materials can quietly weaken a roof until it finally gives way.

Local residents in Baghbanpura expressed fear and grief after the collapse. Several said they had noticed cracks in nearby buildings but never expected such a fatal outcome.
