PPP Slams MQM Leaders as Sindh Division Debate Heats Up

PPP vs MQM – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – The Sindh division PPP MQM dispute has taken a sharp turn, with the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party firmly rejecting calls for splitting Sindh into new provinces.

Senior PPP leader Nasir Shah did not hold back his words. He said the country already struggles to manage its four provinces. So why, he asked, are some leaders dreaming of creating more?

Shah’s remarks were aimed directly at MQM-P leaders Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mustafa Kamal. Both hold federal minister posts, which Shah pointed out often.

He questioned how they could claim to speak for Sindh while spending most of their time in Islamabad chasing federal roles.

Funds Diversion Claims Rejected

Shah also pushed back hard against claims that Sindh’s funds were being sent to Dubai. He said anyone making such accusations should first check their own federal ministries.

According to him, this entire province debate is nothing more than a distraction. He believes MQM-P is using it to cover up cracks within its own party.

His advice was simple. Focus on real legislation. Study the Constitution properly. And stop treating people of Sindh like outsiders on their own land.

MQM-P Says the Struggle Is Constitutional

On the other side, MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal held a public rally in Shah Faisal Town. He made his party’s position loud and clear.

Kamal said their fight for new provinces is fully backed by law and the Constitution. Nothing about it breaks any rule, he insisted.

He compared the idea to a growing family adding new floors to their home. According to him, new provinces would not divide Pakistan. Instead, they would bring power closer to ordinary citizens.

Kamal didn’t stop there. He criticized the current system of one federation and four provinces, calling it a major reason behind public frustration.

Interestingly, the rally also revealed cracks inside MQM-P itself. While Kamal addressed his supporters in Karachi, party chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui led a separate gathering in Mirpurkhas.

This split appearance raised more questions than answers. Many now wonder if MQM-P is truly united on this new province agenda.

Karachi’s Economic Argument

Kamal also brought numbers into his speech. He claimed Karachi generates around 70 percent of Pakistan’s national revenue.

He argued that if given proper financial and administrative control, Karachi’s contribution could jump from Rs4,000 billion to a massive Rs40,000 billion.

According to him, this alone could stabilize the entire country’s economy.

The Sindh division PPP MQM debate is far from over. Both sides are digging deeper into their positions, and public rallies are becoming more frequent.

For now, PPP sees this movement as political theater. MQM-P sees it as a genuine push for constitutional reform.

Whichever way this goes, one thing is certain. This issue will continue to dominate Sindh’s political conversations in the coming weeks.
