Security Forces Foil Terror Plot In South Waziristan

WANA: (Special Reporter) – Security forces have foiled a major suspected terrorist attack in South Waziristan Lower through an intelligence-based operation carried out in the Wana area.

According to security sources, an explosive-filled vehicle allegedly prepared for a suicide attack was destroyed in the Ghwakhwa area of Wana before it could be used against civilians.

Officials said the vehicle had been under surveillance for three days. Security forces carried out the operation after the vehicle moved away from a populated area to minimize the risk of civilian casualties.

The operation resulted in the destruction of the explosive-laden vehicle and a motorcycle. Sources said one militant was killed, while five others were injured during the action.

Security officials said the operation demonstrates the commitment and operational capability of security forces in countering terrorism and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
