Over 40 Killed in Operation Shaban Ziarat Balochistan
Security Forces Widen Operation Shaban Balochistan Ziarat Militants Operation After Deadly Police Attacks
Balochistan – (Web Desk) – Operation Shaban Balochistan Ziarat militants operation has claimed at least 17 more lives, pushing the total number of dead militants to 43. Officials say the fighters were backed by India and were hiding in the mountains near Ziarat.
This operation did not start on its own. It began right after gunmen attacked the Mangi Dam police station. That attack shook the region and forced the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police to work together.
Local police did not stay quiet during the first strike. They fought back hard and managed to kill 15 attackers early on. Sadly, nine officers lost their lives during that same fight. Some of their fellow policemen were also taken hostage by the militants.
Once soldiers reached the scene, they moved with great care. Their main worry was simple: many young officers were still being held by the attackers. So troops slowly tightened the ring around the gunmen instead of rushing in.
That patience did not stop the militants from acting cruelly. When they saw the circle closing in, they killed 18 more police personnel. This raised total police deaths in the Mangi checkpoint clash to 27. Meanwhile, 26 attackers were also killed in that same fight.
The violence did not stop there. A separate attack hit a police station in Khuzdar too. Troops responded fast this time. Reports say eight more militants were killed once forces pushed back.
Since July 5, security officials say 79 militants have died in total. This number includes people killed during regular missions, not just the Ziarat fighting. A handful more, around five or six fighters, were also killed through helicopter strikes.
Even with these wins, the human cost has been heavy. Three recent attacks across Balochistan left 42 people dead. This includes both soldiers and everyday civilians who had nothing to do with the fighting.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke about this pain during a security meeting in Quetta. He said the country will not stop fighting until every last militant is removed from Pakistani soil. His words were firm and left little room for doubt.
He also pointed a finger toward India, saying it was behind these attacks. He added that some of these plans were made using land inside Afghanistan. According to him, enemies simply cannot accept how far Pakistan has come lately.
A day before this speech, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir made a similar promise. Speaking at the National Defence University, he said outside forces keep trying to weaken Pakistan from within. He made it clear that these efforts will fail no matter how hard they try.
Munir also warned that hostile spy agencies are quietly helping such networks. He said their goal is to hurt Pakistan’s peace and its growing economy. Still, he insisted these plans would never succeed.
As the Ziarat operation moves forward, more updates are expected soon. For now, both civilian and military leaders seem united. Their message stays the same: this fight will not stop until peace returns to Balochistan.
