Iran’s supreme leader says US Iran Deal Signed 2026: War Ends, Hormuz Reopens
US Iran Deal Signed 2026 Ends Middle East War
IRAN vs US – (Web Desk) – The US Iran deal signed 2026 has brought a historic end to the Middle East conflict, with America lifting its naval blockade of Iran after both sides signed a peace agreement.
US Central Command confirmed the blockade has ended, adding that some American vessels will stay in the area for now.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei approved the deal despite personal reservations. He said he allowed it after Iran’s President Pezeshkian assured him the rights of the Iranian people would be protected.
Khamenei said President Trump used “all kinds of leverage out of desperation” to push the deal forward. He also made clear that future talks between Tehran and Washington will not mean Iran is accepting America’s position.
This is the first time Khamenei has spoken publicly since taking office in March. His father and predecessor, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in US-Israeli strikes on February 28 that started the regional war.
Trump did not respond directly to Khamenei. He posted on Truth Social saying he expects a ceasefire on “all fronts,” including between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The deal covers 14 key points. These include reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a commitment that Iran will never build a nuclear weapon, and a $300 billion fund for Iran’s reconstruction and development. The US is not required to contribute to this fund.
Both sides must reach a final deal within 60 days, with the option to extend by mutual agreement.
The signing ceremony was originally planned for Switzerland on Friday but was cancelled after both sides signed the deal remotely. US and Iranian officials are still expected to meet in Switzerland for further talks.
Vice President JD Vance said the deal is now active and the 60-day negotiation period has started. He defended the agreement, saying Iran will not receive any money or sanctions relief unless it meets all the conditions.
Vance said Iran must destroy its stockpile of enriched uranium and prove it has stopped funding proxy groups in the region.
However, the deal has drawn sharp criticism inside the US. Republican Senator Bill Cassidy called it the “worst foreign policy blunder in decades,” saying Iran’s nuclear goals were not truly stopped and that threatening the Strait of Hormuz has been rewarded.
Vance also hit back at Israeli cabinet members who criticised the deal, saying they should “wake up and smell the reality” and not attack their most powerful ally.
