First Pakistani Woman in The Hundred Cricket Signs Deal

Fatima Sana Makes History as the First Pakistani Woman in The Hundred Cricket with Birmingham Phoenix

Fatima Sana – (Web Desk) – Fatima Sana has made history by becoming the first Pakistani woman in The Hundred cricket. Birmingham Phoenix signed her in the wildcard draft on Thursday, filling the overseas slot left open after Cricket Australia pulled Lucy Hamilton out to manage her workload.

Sana is Pakistan’s captain and a genuine all-rounder. She can score runs under pressure and take wickets with the ball. Birmingham Phoenix performance director James Thomas called her signing a real statement of intent, praising her as an international-class pace bowler.

Her selection came just hours after a brilliant personal performance against South Africa at Edgbaston — the Phoenix’s own home ground. She came in at number eight and scored 55 not out off 38 balls to rescue her side, then took 3 for 16 with the ball. Pakistan still lost by two wickets, but Sana left a strong impression.

She will earn the tournament’s minimum salary of £15,000, which is around 5.6 million Pakistani rupees. However, her availability may be affected by Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka running from July 23 to August 4, which overlaps with part of The Hundred schedule.

Sana is the third Pakistani player in this year’s tournament. Usman Tariq is also at Birmingham Phoenix, while mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed will play for Sunrisers Leeds. The Hundred runs from July 21 to August 16, 2026.
