KP Budget 2026-27 Date Confirmed by Governor Kundi
Governor Kundi Clears Air on KP Budget 2026-27 Date
KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has made it clear that there is no delay in the KP budget 2026-27 date. Speaking to journalists at Parliament House, he said the budget is expected to be presented on Friday.
Governor Kundi responded to remarks by PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, who reportedly said the KP government would not present the budget without first meeting the PTI founder. Kundi said she does not appear to understand the constitution. He added that if PTI fails to present the budget, it will be the government’s own failure.
Taking a direct jab at former KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Kundi said Gandapur failed to turn Dera Ismail Khan into a developed city. He pointed out that the area still struggles with serious problems including terrorism and kidnapping for ransom.
Despite the criticism, the governor left the door open for cooperation. He said if PTI genuinely works for the development and progress of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he is ready to join hands with them.
Governor Kundi also raised the issue of wheat shortage in KP. He directly appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take notice and remove all hurdles blocking wheat supply to the province.
On another front, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has fixed the hearing of a contempt of court petition filed by Uzma Khan, the sister of PTI founder. A three-member bench will take up the case tomorrow.
Kundi also predicted that a PPP-backed chief minister will be sworn in soon in Gilgit-Baltistan.
