Power Division Fraud Warning: Protect Your Electricity Subsidy Data

Stay Safe: Power Division Fraud Warning on Electricity Subsidy Scams

Ministry of Energy’s Power Division – (Web Desk) – The Power Division fraud warning electricity subsidy consumers must take seriously has been issued by the Ministry of Energy. Criminals are sending fake links to steal your personal data through a four-step process followed by a six-digit code entry.

These scammers are also misusing QR codes to collect your private information illegally. The government has made it clear that no electricity bill or subsidy data can be shared on any platform outside the official system.

Law enforcement agencies have been informed about these criminal activities. Citizens are strongly advised not to enter any personal information — whether online or on paper — through any channel that is not officially authorised.

On a positive note, the Power Division confirmed that the technical issue on the official website has been fully resolved after server capacity was upgraded. The QR system is now working smoothly and over one million users have already completed their registration.

The spokesperson also clarified that homes with multiple electricity meters registered under different family members are being treated as separate families within the system.
