Atta Tarar Condemns Foreign Propaganda Against Pakistan Peace Efforts

Foreign Campaign Spreading Misinformation About Pakistan, Minister said.

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said a coordinated negative propaganda campaign has been operating from abroad over the past several days with the intention of spreading misinformation and creating confusion regarding Pakistan’s regional role.

In a statement, Tarar said the campaign relies on unidentified sources and fabricated claims in an attempt to damage Pakistan’s image and undermine its efforts for sustainable peace in the region. He described the campaign as an unprofessional effort driven by elements uncomfortable with regional stability and peace initiatives.

The minister stated that credible Pakistani media outlets and independent fact-checking platforms had already exposed several false claims through evidence and verification. According to him, anti-peace forces are behind the spread of misleading narratives targeting Pakistan.

Tarar emphasized that Pakistan’s ongoing fight against foreign-sponsored terrorism and its role in promoting regional peace have disturbed groups that benefit from instability and conflict. He added that eliminating terrorism and supporting peaceful solutions may not align with the interests of those involved in the alleged propaganda campaign.

He further said that Pakistan and its responsible media would continue exposing the motives behind what he called a coordinated disinformation effort. The minister also appreciated the role of Pakistani media organizations and social media influencers for countering false narratives and presenting verified information to the public.
