ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has dismissed rumors of an immediate retirement from T20 internationals. While he had previously considered stepping away from the format after the World Cup, he clarified on Monday that he no longer plans to retire anytime soon.

In an official statement, Fakhar emphasized that reports suggesting his imminent T20I retirement were incorrect. “I had decided to retire from T20 cricket after the World Cup, but at this stage I have no plans to retire,” the left-handed batsman said. He added that he hopes to conclude his T20 career on a high note whenever he eventually decides to retire.

The 35-year-old has been a pivotal figure for Pakistan in T20 cricket, scoring 2,494 runs in 120 matches at a strike rate of 132.51, including 14 half-centuries.

Fakhar has also been a key performer for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League and continues to feature in the ongoing 11th edition of the tournament.
