Pakistan Will Boost Food Exports Without Affecting Domestic Supply
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad to discuss the country’s food situation and export potential. The session reviewed food supply, domestic reserves, and export opportunities in light of changing global and regional conditions.
The Prime Minister assured that Pakistan has ample food stocks and no shortages of essential commodities. He directed that high-quality food products should be exported to the brotherly Gulf countries while ensuring domestic requirements are fully met. He also emphasized leveraging opportunities created by global supply chains.
Officials informed the meeting that Pakistan’s agricultural sector — including commodities, meat, poultry, dairy, and seafood — has significant export potential. The Prime Minister instructed the formation of a dedicated committee to monitor the situation daily.
