Fakhar Zaman Out of Pakistan ODI Series

Pakistan ODI Team to Tour Bangladesh Without Fakhar Zaman

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s aggressive batsman Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury. The 29-year-old, who impressed with a fiery innings against Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup, will undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy to regain fitness.

The Pakistan team is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in March for a three-match ODI series. The squad will arrive in Dhaka on March 9, with a practice session planned for March 10. The ODI matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on March 11, 13, and 15.

This marks Pakistan’s second visit to Bangladesh since the T20 International series in July 2025, which Bangladesh won. Previously, Bangladesh toured Pakistan in May/June 2025, where Pakistan, under Salman Ali Agha’s captaincy, won the T20 series 3-0.

Officials have noted that regional tensions may impact travel, but the tour is expected to proceed as scheduled if security risks do not escalate.

Selectors are reportedly considering including young talent in the ODI squad to strengthen the team, with the possibility of replacing under-performers from the T20 series, including Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, and Muhammad Nawaz, giving promising players a chance to shine.
