Trump Backs Pakistan’s Handling of Afghan Tensions

Trump Praises Pakistan Leadership Amid Escalating Afghan Border Conflict

WASHINGTON: (Web Desk) – Donald Trump has commented on the rising military tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban-led authorities in Afghanistan, saying Islamabad is managing the situation “terrifically well” and that the United States has no plans to intervene.

Speaking to reporters in Washington before departing for Texas, Trump said no request had been made for his involvement. He added that he enjoys strong relations with Pakistan and sees no reason to step into the conflict at this stage.

Trump also praised Pakistan’s top leadership, expressing admiration for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir. He described both leaders as individuals he deeply respects, adding that Pakistan’s handling of the situation reflects strong leadership.

Trump Stays Neutral on Pak-Afghan Tensions

The former US president emphasized that Washington prefers to leave the matter to the countries directly involved, underlining the US decision to stay out of the dispute.

His remarks come as tensions intensify along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where Pakistani forces have launched Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq following what officials described as unprovoked attacks by Taliban-run authorities in Kabul.

According to Pakistani military sources, the operation has caused significant damage to militant infrastructure and resulted in heavy losses for Taliban fighters across multiple Afghan provinces.
