Dar holds multiple meetings in Jeddah, reiterates strong support for Palestine
Ishaq Dar meets global leaders in Jeddah, reaffirms Pakistan’s strong support for Palestine and strengthens regional cooperation.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar – (Web Desk) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the OIC Executive Committee in Jeddah, emphasizing Pakistan’s continued support for the Palestinian cause and exploring regional and bilateral cooperation, according to Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi.
In his meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Warsan Aghabekian Shaheen, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong solidarity with the Palestinian people. He condemned the recent Israeli military attacks in Gaza and denounced actions in the occupied West Bank as illegal. Both leaders discussed the urgent humanitarian situation in Gaza, stressing the need for uninterrupted humanitarian aid and swift reconstruction efforts.
Dar also met with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rehman, congratulating Bangladesh on its peaceful and historic transfer of power. The two ministers explored ways to strengthen bilateral ties, agreeing to enhance cooperation in trade, culture, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They highlighted the importance of close collaboration to promote regional peace and stability.
Dar also met Maldives Foreign Minister Abdullah Khalil in Jeddah. Both sides highlighted the strong and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the Maldives and reiterated their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. They also reaffirmed support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
In another engagement, the deputy prime minister met Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Musa Kulalikaya. The two leaders highlighted the deep and historic relations between Pakistan and Turkey and agreed to further strengthen their bilateral strategic partnership. They also discussed regional issues and reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The meetings were held during the extraordinary session of the OIC Executive Committee in Jeddah, the spokesperson added.
