After T20 loss, Salman Ali Agha’s wife appeals against social media trolling
On Instagram, she wrote: “Sending me or my innocent son abuse is not going to win you the World Cup, Pakistani fans.”
LAHORE (Web Desk): Pakistan Captain’s wife has spoken out against online abuse following Pakistan’s defeat to England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Super Eight. Hours after the match, she appealed to fans to stop targeting players’ families, especially children, in their frustration.
On Instagram, she wrote: “Sending me or my innocent son abuse is not going to win you the World Cup, Pakistani fans.”
The loss sparked criticism of Pakistan’s performance and Salman Ali Agha’s captaincy. While post-match scrutiny is normal in major tournaments, some fans reportedly went too far with vulgar attacks and threats aimed at Agha’s family.

Her statement highlighted a recurring issue in Pakistan cricket, where players’ relatives often face online harassment. Some even labelled her and Agha as “English agents” due to her British-Pakistani background and shared her social media publicly.
After the game, Salman Ali Agha admitted Pakistan fell short of their intended innings but praised England, especially Harry Brook, who scored a century off 51 balls to secure victory.
Despite the setback, Pakistan still has a chance at the semi-finals. They must beat Sri Lanka in their next match and hope other results go in their favor to advance.
