PCB Sets Deadline for Multan Sultans Bids
PCB Announces January 30 Deadline for Multan Sultans Franchise
Islamabad (News Desk): Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that January 30, 2026, will be the final deadline for submitting technical proposals to acquire the Pakistan Super League franchise Multan Sultans.
According to a private news channel, Mohsin Naqvi shared the update through a post on X, urging interested parties not to miss the opportunity to become part of the HBL PSL. He described the sale as a rare chance to own a league franchise, stating that a new era for Multan Sultans was about to begin.
The PCB had initiated the process of selling the franchise rights ahead of the 11th edition of the PSL and issued a formal notice inviting bids from interested groups. Only bidders who successfully meet the technical criteria will qualify for the next phase of the auction.
The decision follows the PCB’s successful sale of two new PSL teams, with FKS Group acquiring Hyderabad for Rs1.75 billion and OZ Developers purchasing Sialkot for Rs1.85 billion at an auction held at Islamabad’s Jinnah Convention Centre.

Former Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen announced his departure from the franchise in November, after which the PCB briefly considered operating the team itself before opting for an auction. Multan Sultans were not included in the earlier sale of new teams as the board had yet to finalize its strategy at the time.
