Ayesha Omar Shares Beach Escape, Teases Mera Lyari

Ayesha Omar’s Karachi Getaway Sparks Buzz Around Mera Lyari

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Ayesha Omar delighted fans by sharing snapshots from her seaside escape in Karachi, offering a glimpse into her sunlit coastal retreat on social media. Posting photos and short videos on Instagram, the actor captioned the update, “Beach bums found another heavenly spot in Karachi.”

For the outing, she embraced an effortless beach aesthetic, donning a white cropped tie-front blouse with full sleeves, paired with breezy wide-leg trousers adorned in a blue, yellow, and green tile-inspired print reminiscent of Positano and Sicilian designs.

She also tagged Sahil-e-Firdous, subtly promoting the members-only luxury beach club located near Gadani Beach in Balochistan, roughly an hour’s drive from Karachi.

Meanwhile, Ayesha continues to build anticipation for her upcoming film Mera Lyari. Last month, she unveiled the film’s first covers featuring herself alongside Dananeer Mobeen, followed by individual character posters of Samiya Mumtaz, Nayyer Ejaz, Adnan Shah Tipu, and Sania Sohail. The visuals struck a serious, grounded tone, suggesting a narrative rooted in realism.

Sharing her emotional connection to the project, Ayesha described Mera Lyari as a labour of love, expressing gratitude as the film nears release. The project arrives amid heightened political and cultural debate, positioned as a response to India’s controversial spy thriller Dhurandhar, which faced backlash in Pakistan for its portrayal of Lyari as a hub of violence.

Pakistani officials and commentators criticised the depiction, calling it misleading. Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced Mera Lyari as a counter-narrative aimed at showcasing Lyari’s true identity — one of resilience, peace, and pride.

Written and directed by Abu Aleeha, known for Taxali Gate, the film is executive produced by Ayesha Omar under her production banner, Hawksbay Productions.
