Cylinder Explosion in Islamabad Sector G-7 Kills Eight

ISLAMABAD (Mudassar Ch) – A deadly cylinder explosion rocked Islamabad’s Sector G-7/2 on Sunday, killing Eight people and causing extensive damage to nearby houses in the crowded residential area. The powerful blast prompted an immediate emergency response as rescue teams rushed to the scene to pull residents from the rubble.

Following directives from the Islamabad Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Sahibzada Yusuf reached the site to supervise rescue operations. He confirmed that 15 people were recovered from the damaged homes, but Eight later died due to severe injuries.

The remaining ten injured victims were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where an emergency was declared to ensure prompt medical treatment. Medical staff continued to provide care as authorities worked to secure the area and assess the damage.

Officials said rescue operations were completed after all affected individuals were safely evacuated. An inquiry has been launched to determine the exact cause of the explosion, while initial reports suggest serious structural damage to surrounding buildings.
