Suniel Shetty Rejects Rs 40 Crore Tobacco Endorsement

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Suniel Shetty has revealed that he once turned down a lucrative offer worth Rs 40 crore from a tobacco brand.

Speaking in a recent interview, the 64-year-old actor said he was offered a massive amount to endorse a tobacco product but refused the deal due to personal principles. He explained that he considers himself a role model for young people and did not want to associate with something he personally does not believe in.

Suniel Shetty said that although he is not as active in films and at the box office as he once was, many teenagers aged 17 and 18 still consider him their idol. He emphasized that he has never compromised on his values or principles for money, especially when it comes to influencing children and youth.

The actor also shared that he had stepped away from acting for a period due to his father’s illness and later his passing. He revealed that on the very day his father passed away, he received a work offer that helped him resume his artistic journey.

Suniel Shetty added that after the global pandemic, he focused on self-improvement and achieving financial stability, which brought him mental peace and confidence. He said the continued love and support from fans and the media encouraged him to stay strong, even during times when box office success was not in his favor.

The veteran actor’s remarks have been widely appreciated, highlighting his commitment to ethics, self-respect, and positive influence in the entertainment industry.
