Messi’s Private Jet Steals Spotlight During India Tour

Lionel Messi purchased the Gulfstream V private jet in 2018.

NEW DELHI: Argentina’s world-famous football star Lionel Messi has been on a tour of India since December 13. While fans lined up in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the football icon, his private jet featuring the number 10 also became a major attraction.

Messi’s luxurious and unique jet is not only one of the most expensive assets in his collection but is also customized entirely according to his personal preferences.

According to reports, Lionel Messi purchased the Gulfstream V private jet in 2018. The Gulfstream V is an upgraded version of the Gulfstream IV, which was launched in 1997.

The jet is equipped with 14 comfortable seats, a kitchen, two bathrooms and modern facilities, allowing up to 16 passengers to travel together. The number 10, which also represents Messi’s iconic jersey number, is displayed on the rear of the aircraft.

The stairs of the jet feature the names of Messi’s wife Antonella Roccuzzo and their three children, Thiago, Mateo and Ciro.

Reports say Messi bought the private jet in 2018 for $15 million (approximately 136 crore Indian rupees). The aircraft is capable of flying at an altitude of up to 51,000 feet and can travel nonstop between cities such as New York, Tokyo, London and Singapore.
