Highlighting Pakistan’s strategic location along vital sea lines of communication in the Indian Ocean Region, the Naval Chief noted that the country’s economic future is deeply connected to the sea. Despite vast maritime potential, he stated, Pakistan’s Blue Economy contributes only a small share to national GDP, though it holds the capability to add tens of billions of dollars if effectively developed.

He underscored that evolving geopolitical dynamics in the IOR directly affect Pakistan’s maritime security, calling for a balanced strategy that integrates national prosperity with a secure maritime environment.

Admiral Ashraf expressed confidence that MARSEW-8 would generate innovative ideas to strengthen maritime security and unlock economic opportunities. He wished participants a productive experience at the Pakistan Navy War College and concluded with traditional naval well-wishes: “Fair Winds and Following Seas.”
