Security Forces Eliminate 22 Indian-Sponsored Terrorists in Bannu IBO

Troops effectively engaged the hideout, and following an intense exchange of fire, 22 militants were neutralised.

RAWALPINDI: Security forces personnel eliminated 22 Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched after credible intelligence indicated the presence of Indian proxy Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as Khawarij, in the area.

Troops effectively engaged the hideout, and following an intense exchange of fire, 22 militants were neutralised.

A sanitisation operation is currently underway to ensure the area is completely cleared of any remaining militant presence.

The ISPR added that Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework — approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan — will continue with full force to dismantle all foreign-backed terrorist networks.

The statement came a day after Khwarij suicide attackers attempted to storm the FC Headquarters in Peshawar, where three FC personnel were martyred, while security forces eliminated all the assailants.
