Pakistan Marks World Immunization Day – Uniting for a Healthier Future
Despite these gains, reaching hard‑to‑access areas in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) remains a formidable challenge.
ISLAMABAD – On World Immunization Day, Pakistan highlighted the critical role of vaccines in safeguarding public health. The Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) is committed accelerating routine immunization and reaching every child, especially in the most remote regions, through the nation‑wide Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
Basic immunization remains the cornerstone of a healthier Pakistan, preventing millions of deaths from preventable diseases. This year’s milestone also includes the successful rollout of the HPV vaccination campaign, supported by partners, which has already protected thousands of adolescent girls across the country.
Despite these gains, reaching hard‑to‑access areas in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) remains a formidable challenge. In Balochistan, the CSO Dopasi Foundation is spearheading demand‑generation activities and providing logistical support to the provincial health department, helping to close immunization gaps and move closer to national targets.

Immunization is a shared responsibility—government, partners, and communities must work together to leave no child behind. All parents must ensure their children receive all scheduled vaccines on time. Timely immunization not only protects individual health but also builds a resilient nation capable of thriving in the face of emerging health threats for a safer and healthier Pakistan.
