
Hamas Agrees to Hostage Release, Seeks Clarifications on Trump’s Gaza Proposal
Trump Sets Deadline as Hamas Accepts Some Points, Questions Others in Gaza Deal
Hamas has responded to US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, it said in a statement released on Friday, accepting some points but requesting additional clarifications on others.
The group said it would agree to release all Israeli hostages, both living and dead, and affirmed that it was ready to immediately engage, via mediators, to discuss the plan. Hamas also said it would agree to hand over rule of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body made up of independent technocrats.
Trump Warns Hamas: Reach Gaza Deal by Sunday Night or Face Consequences
Hamas said it welcomed and appreciated efforts by Arab, Islamic and international actors, including Trump. Trump earlier Friday provided a deadline for Hamas to answer by Sunday or else ”all HELL” would break out.
