Historic peace deal prompts Pakistan-Armenia diplomacy shift
A friendly phone call between foreign ministers leads to a potential new chapter for both nations.
Pakistan – Armenia – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, shared big news on Friday. He spoke on the phone with Armenia’s Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan. Their talk was friendly and positive. Together, they agreed to think about starting official diplomatic relations between their two countries.
Right now, Pakistan and Armenia do not have formal embassies or official ties. In the past, Pakistan supported Azerbaijan in its conflict with Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. This has been a major reason the two nations have not been friends.

This new step follows a recent peace deal. Earlier this month, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a historic agreement to promote peace. US President Donald Trump helped bring the two sides together. Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, praised this deal and congratulated both countries. He reaffirmed that Pakistan remains a strong supporter of Azerbaijan and is happy for their peaceful progress.
