Govt halts Hajj 2026 applications amid massive response
Authorities have stopped accepting further applications after an overwhelming response within just 17 days.
ISLAMABAD: The process of receiving applications under the government Hajj scheme 2026 has officially been completed, with 118,060 pilgrims applying from across Pakistan.
Authorities have stopped accepting further applications after an overwhelming response within just 17 days.
According to sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the government had opened applications on a first-come, first-served basis, both online and through designated banks. Due to a strong rush of applicants, the quota was filled earlier than in previous years.

Applicants submitted forms for both long and short-duration Hajj packages. The ministry confirmed that half of the total Hajj expenses were received as the first installment, while the remaining amount will be collected in the second installment.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs will now process the applications and issue further instructions to selected pilgrims. With the process ending earlier than expected, this year’s Hajj preparations are likely to move forward on an accelerated timeline.
