Mohamed Salah makes history with record-breaking third PFA Player of the Year award achievement
Egyptian-(Special Correspondent / Web Desk)-Mohamed Salah made history by becoming the first footballer to win the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award three times. His outstanding performance helped Liverpool secure the 2024/25 Premier League title.
Salah scored 29 Premier League goals and recorded 18 assists, driving Liverpool to their record-equalling 20th English top-flight championship with four games to spare. He previously won this award in 2017/18 and 2021/22.
The 33-year-old Egyptian forward also won the Football Writers’ Association award and Premier League Player of the Year award, highlighting his dominance in English football this season.
Aston Villa’s rising star Morgan Rogers earned the PFA Young Player of the Year award after an impressive breakthrough season, which included his senior England debut.
Liverpool stars Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Salah himself were named in the 2024/25 PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
Milos Kerkez, who joined Liverpool from Bournemouth, also made the Team of the Year, alongside Arsenal defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes and midfielder Declan Rice.
Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels and Chris Wood were recognised for excellent performances, while Newcastle’s Alexander Isak finished second to Salah in the Premier League Golden Boot race.
In women’s football, Arsenal midfielder Mariona Caldentey won the Women’s PFA Player of the Year award after helping the team lift the UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy.
