Troops Donate One Day’s Salary To Flood Relief

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- (Special Correspondent/Web desk) Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has ordered urgent and comprehensive measures to support flood-hit communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He pledged that the army will remain fully committed until normalcy is restored in the affected districts.

Sources confirmed that troops stationed in the province have been assigned relief and rehabilitation duties. More contingents are also being deployed to provide timely help and speed up recovery efforts in the flood-affected regions.

COAS Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has directed the Corps of Engineers to speed up the repair of damaged bridges and build temporary crossings where needed. Specialised teams have also been deployed, including the 9th Unit’s Rescue Sniffing Dog Team and a dedicated Urban Search and Rescue unit. These teams are assisting in locating stranded or missing people in the affected areas.

Army Aviation helicopters have been dispatched to deliver relief supplies, evacuate stranded families, and provide assistance in remote regions cut off by floodwaters.

Security officials said the Pakistan Army stands “shoulder to shoulder” with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will continue support until recovery efforts are complete.

Earlier in the day, army personnel carried out timely rescue operations in flood-hit areas, safely evacuating people, including schoolchildren, to secure locations.
