Hub – A well-organized smuggling network operating under the guise of the Pakistan Post has been exposed in Hub, Balochistan, in a major police operation that foiled an attempt to transport non-custom paid goods from Hub to Rawalpindi.

The operation, carried out under the special directives of SSP Hub Syed Fazil Bukhari, was led by SHO Ataullah Jamot of City Police Station under the supervision of DSP Imam Bakhsh. Police raided the local Pakistan Post Office and uncovered a large quantity of smuggled goods, including expensive imported chocolates, candies, and other non-duty-paid items, all packed as parcels destined for Rawalpindi.

During the raid, five Pakistan Post employees were arrested, and a formal case was registered against them. Initial investigations revealed that this was not an isolated incident but part of a larger, long-running smuggling network exploiting the official postal system for illegal trade.

According to police sources, there is clear evidence of the involvement of internal postal staff in facilitating the movement of smuggled goods. Authorities believe the operation has been ongoing for some time, using government infrastructure to evade customs scrutiny.

The investigation has been expanded, and police anticipate more arrests in the coming days. Officials said the apprehended suspects are helping identify other members of the network, and significant revelations are expected as the probe continues.

Police have vowed to fully dismantle the smuggling ring and bring all those involved to justice.
