SBP Governor Praises SICPA’s Readiness for Secure New Banknotes

SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad Visits SICPA Pakistan Ahead of New Banknote Series Launch

Karachi — In a move signaling closer collaboration on national currency security, Mr. Jameel Ahmad, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), paid an official visit to the headquarters of SICPA Pakistan, accompanied by a high-level delegation of senior officials.

The visiting delegation included Mr. Saleem Ullah, Deputy Governor SBP; Mr. Arshad Bhatti, Managing Director of the Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (PSPC); and Mr. Aqeel Ashraf Rana, Principal Staff Officer to the Governor. They were warmly received by Mr. Rizwan Butt, Managing Director of SICPA Pakistan.

During the visit, the delegation was given a detailed walkthrough of SICPA’s advanced ink production processes and the security features embedded in Pakistan’s banknotes. The company, which has been operational in Pakistan for over three decades, highlighted its longstanding commitment to innovation, quality, and service in the currency protection domain.

Governor Ahmad expressed his appreciation for SICPA Pakistan’s technological capabilities and commended their preparedness for the upcoming launch of Pakistan’s new banknote series. He noted that secure, high-quality currency is essential for maintaining public trust and financial stability.

The visit concluded with a tree plantation ceremony, symbolizing SICPA’s commitment to environmental sustainability, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
