PSL Set to Resume as Ceasefire Brings Hope for Stability

PSL administration working on plan to gather all teams in Islamabad after Pak-India ceasefire, say sources

LAHORE: Following the formal ceasefire announcement between Pakistan and India on Saturday, Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have been directed to keep their foreign players stationed in Dubai, signaling a potential resumption of the tournament, sources told Geo News. The PSL administration has begun coordinating with franchises to prepare for the remaining matches of Season 10, with local players also instructed to gear up for the restart. Plans are underway to assemble all teams in Islamabad, with Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium likely to host the remaining fixtures.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier indefinitely postponed the last eight matches of PSL 10 due to escalating security concerns after increased hostilities along the Line of Control (LoC), including the incursion of 78 Indian drones and missile attacks. The PCB condemned the aggression and expressed solidarity with the victims and armed forces. Despite emotional strain, particularly on foreign players, the board praised the commitment of franchises, sponsors, broadcasters, and fans. Prior to the suspension, Quetta Gladiators topped the table and had already secured a playoff spot. Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi remain in playoff contention, while Multan Sultans have been eliminated.
