Trump Says U.S. in Talks with Four Groups Over TikTok Sale
Potential Buyers Eye TikTok, Valued at $50 Billion
Washington, D.C.– U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that his administration is in discussions with four different groups regarding the potential sale of the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok. Trump stated that “all options are good,” as the fate of TikTok remains uncertain after a law mandating its sale or a ban over national security concerns took effect on January 19.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump revealed that his administration is exploring multiple avenues for the popular app’s future. “We’re dealing with four different groups, and a lot of people want it… all four are good,” he said, hinting at potential developments in the near future.
The law requiring TikTok’s owner, ByteDance, to sell the platform was signed before Trump took office, and on January 20, he signed an executive order that delayed the enforcement of the law by 75 days. As the clock ticks down, speculation about a deal for TikTok has intensified.
Several potential buyers have shown interest in acquiring the app, including former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, with analysts estimating TikTok’s value could reach as much as $50 billion.

Neither TikTok nor ByteDance immediately responded to Reuters’ requests for comment on the ongoing discussions.
The potential sale of TikTok has been a highly contentious issue, with both national security concerns and the platform’s massive user base playing pivotal roles in shaping the negotiations.
