PTI Rejects Health Rumours Surrounding Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General, Salman Akram Raja, on Tuesday rejected rumours regarding the health of party founder Imran Khan, asserting that the former Prime Minister is in perfect health.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Raja clarified that Imran Khan had undergone a routine check-up and dismissed claims that he had been denied Sehri or restricted from praying during his detention. “There is no truth in these claims,” Raja confirmed.
Raja also provided updates on Khan’s legal matters, revealing that Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, had appointed Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas as their lawyer. He further stated that Faisal Chaudhry had been directed to hand over all relevant petitions to Chaudhry Zaheer.
Expressing regret over the politicization of legal matters, Raja criticized individuals who attempted to use the legal profession for personal political gain. He emphasized that whoever Imran Khan assigns responsibility to would manage the political affairs.
Raja also announced that Niaz Ullah Niazi had been appointed as Imran Khan’s official spokesperson, and Bushra Bibi had chosen four focal persons for the party’s affairs.

Regarding the opposition alliance, Raja confirmed ongoing discussions but withheld full details. He stated, “We respect Maulana Fazlur Rehman and hope he will join the alliance. The founder has given instructions regarding Maulana, which I will convey to him.”
Raja condemned recent statements by Barrister Saif as irresponsible and instructed Sheikh Waqas Akram to inquire about the reasons behind such comments.
