Pakistan & Hong Kong Aim to Strengthen Economic and Diplomatic Relations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Hong Kong have expressed their commitment to strengthening economic and diplomatic ties, focusing on potential cooperation in key sectors such as finance, technology, and tourism. This was emphasized during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), John K C Lee, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, held in Islamabad, Minister Aurangzeb highlighted the immense opportunities for increased collaboration between the two regions. He emphasized the shared values and mutual interests that form the foundation of their relationship and reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to deepening these ties for mutual benefit.
The dialogue covered a wide range of topics, including economic collaboration, trade relations, investment opportunities, and cultural exchanges. Both leaders stressed the importance of fostering closer cooperation to unlock opportunities for growth and prosperity in both regions.
Chief Executive John K C Lee welcomed Minister Aurangzeb’s visit and echoed his sentiment, noting that strengthening partnerships is key to driving innovation, economic development, and cultural exchange. He further emphasized that such cooperation would bring significant benefits to both Pakistan and Hong Kong.

The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador in Beijing, Khaleel Hashmi, and Consul General in Hong Kong, Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, underscoring the importance of the diplomatic presence in advancing bilateral ties.
